Civilians Killed, Police Attacked by Russian Terrorists

10 January 2015, Kryakivka village in Luhansk region: Three civilians killed by Russian terrorist shelling, police attacked by tank.

According to information issued by public relations department of Ministry of interior (police) in Luhansk oblast, yesterday, 10 January 2015, three civilians were killed after Russian terrorists shelling Kryakivka village in Luhansk region, in the yard of their own home (house No. 34, Naberezhna St.).

Police officers, who arrived at the scene of event, found the bodies – 14-year-old girl and her 64-year-old grandmother were in the yard, body of killed 50-year-old mother was found in the house. Month ago this family buried the home owner – father of the girl.

Whole family is gone.

It was found out that people were killed by artillery shelling which militants conducted from 3.00 am to 6.00 am, using multiple rocket launcher BM-21 “Grad”. Several shells hit the yard of the house. During examination of bodies, numerous shrapnel wounds were found.

While police officers were examining the scene, Ukrainian army soldiers, who were accompanying them, spotted the tank of Russian terrorists in forest nearby, about 500 meters away. Tank was aiming in the direction of house, were police team was working. In several minutes terrorists opened machine gun fire at police. But accompanying soldiers of 12 battalion of territorial defence “Kyiv” and “Aydar” battalion rebuffed Russian militants, enabling police team to conduct investigation, collect evidence, and remove the bodies of women.

Fragments of artillery shells were collected at the scene. There were no casualties after the shootout (with enemy tank).
